The 2024 wildfire burned our surrounding forests. We left this 7 acre section intact for a year.
We log standing burned trees as needed. Good logs are used for building materials, remaining tree materials used for diversion berms and forest nourishment. This increases biodiversity and animal habitats, decrease soil erosion, and improve water quality and the water cycle.

Excavation Work 2025
- building roadways
- excavating site for 40 x 40 foot barn
- levelling future campground sites
- 50 feet water line digging (6 feet)
- bury burned structure remains

Geohazard Challenges
The Vedic Eco Village is inside an alluval fan. Post wildfire, the Geohazard Likelihood is very high. Diversion berms made from burned trees can absorb debris flow from the surrounding mountains

Geohazard Risk Reduction Measures
- Fan-level channel conveyance
- deflection berms
- sediment capture basins
