Thinning Guidelines

Most trees are starving. The trees are fighting for limited resources.

Steps to a healthy forest:

  • Big trees spaced 20 feet apart between crowns and canopy spaced 3 to 6 feet
  • Remove 60-70% of tree stems, approximately half the forest by volume.

We remove low grade trees, dying trees, and crowded areas.

Eventually the forest is low-graded into a perpetual high-grade situation.
