A fire smarting preventive strategy will protect our forest and homes from devastation and allow the forest to survive when fire comes. Our forest is starving, so we need to reduce the amount of trees. The trees are fighting for limited resources. We remove low grade trees, dying trees, and crowded areas.
Tree thinning improves the forest and provides us with fire wood and economic opportunities (milling timber, poles, etc.)
