GRADUATION CEREMONY

Though the course spanned for a period of only fifteen days, the entire event was quite intense for both the teachers and the students. Vedic education is centered on service to Lord Krishna and thus never ends. There are interesting graduation ceremonies where.

The Vedic system of traditional education enjoins that a special ceremony be conducted when brahmacaris end their training and leave the Gurukula. The ceremony is known as Samavartana samskara. The students take serious vows that reflect the effective application of the knowledge received Traditionally, most students will enter the grihasta (householder) asrama while some will continue as brahmacari.

In keeping with the tradition, we also conducted a small ceremony in those lines. Also, the students led a special Sobha Yatra of Their Lordships Sri Sri Krishna Balarama and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai on a beautifully decorated bullock cart.

Since in the evening there would be a lunar eclipse, the Sobha Yatra was conducted in mid noon followed by Graduation Ceremony. As in the traditional ritual, the students offered some dakshina in gratitude to their teachers. The whole program ended with a big feast.

Later there was feedback from students and teachers and certificates were issued to the students.
