Foods we Consume

We are aspiring for a pure ahimsa life style and local, sustainable diet. Ahimsa means milk and products from protected cows only. Sustainable means choosing ingredients that we are able to grow ourselves and eating our own seasonal fruits and vegetables. Our food motto is "Consume what you produce - produce what you consume". 

Main diet

  • Brown basmati and calrose rice, oats, quinoa, buckwheat and millet
  • Mung dal, chickpeas, green and yellow peas, green and black lentils
  • Sprouted spelt, rye, besan, millet and buckwheat flours
  • Unrefined cold pressed coconut oil and olive oil
  • Whole tumeric and ginger, black pepper, cumin, coriander, fennel
  • Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and hemp seeds
  • Sweets from unrefined sugar, gur/jaggery, honey
  • Celtic and Pure Himalayan rock salts

Restrictions

  • No meat, fish, or eggs
  • No mushroom, garlic or onions
  • No commercial dairy: only Ahimsa milk products
  • No white sugar
  • No processed or junk food
  • No commercial seed oils
  • No wheat
  • No artificial colouring, preservatives, or natural flavours
