Fires and Cooking
Our traditional vedic mud-stoves (chulha) are used for cooking and heating. We have successfully implemented multiple sparkless chulha stoves, combining rocket mass heater technology and traditional Vedic cooking methods.
These stoves are essential for safely cooking with fire in the summertime, as we are in a characteristically dry and high fire risk area. The barrel traps embers and radiates heat into the bathing area, with the potential to be used as a sauna.
Construction
We have our own wood mill to cut the lumber from local burnt trees we are clearing. In addition to outbuildings, we are constructing wind barricades for shelter and shade.
