Holistic Sustainable Living, Bhakti Yoga Retreat in South India

ISKCON of Mangalore, along with the ISKCON Daiva Varnasrama Ministry (IDVM-India), offers a four weeks Holistic Sustainable Living Bhakti Yoga Retreat at its Yoga Asrama at Sahyadri Sri Krishna Balarama Ksetra (SSKBK) from November 12 to December 10, 2018. Both Resident and Visiting Faculty will facilitate the various courses offered during the retreat.

Overseeing the Bhakti Yoga Retreat will be His Holiness Bhakti Raghava Swami, a practicing monk since the last 45 years, originally from Canada. Also on hand will be His Grace Rama Laksman das, Teacher of Bhakti Sastri, from India.

The 15 acres campus at SSKBK is located at the foothills of the Sahyadri Mountain Range in the District of Udupi close to the town of Hebri. The Bhakti Yoga Retreat will offer one the opportunity to reconnect with one’s nature and the serene atmosphere of Parasurama Ksetra also known by Vaisnavas as Dakshin Vrindavan.

Located amidst one of UNESCO’s recognized bio-diversity hotspots on the planet, with an assorted variety of exotic flora and fauna, the SSKBK asrama is home for 45 cows, three families and a small group of practicing monks.

Among the many activities will be daily Yoga Asanas, Japa Meditation, Kirtan, Natural Farming, Gardening, Landscaping, Cow Care, Nature Study Walks, Swimming, Camping, and making of Panchagavya cow medicinal Products. Two Field Trips will also be undertaken at close by ksetras.

The Bhakti Yoga Retreat will allow students to experience a peaceful and wholesome atmosphere centered on land, cows and Vedic culture.   

The Bhakti Yoga Retreat is limited to 20 male students from the age of 15 to 30.  The medium of communication will be English and Kannada.
