Vedic Cooking Facilities
We have invented and successfully implemented sparkless chulha stoves, combining rocket mass heater technology and traditional Vedic cooking methods. These stoves are essential for safely cooking with fire in the summertime, as we are in a characteristically dry and high fire risk area.
Chulha Stove and Cob oven

A year round cooking facility. Chulha and cob oven are built on the same cob floor. Cob oven is used for baking bread, squash, crackers, cakes, cookies and dehydrating fruit.
Chulha Stove in Saranagati
Cook stove and mass heater for Valley Hub / PlayStation. Used for Dharma Discovery to teach kids Vedic cooking techniques. Offers this community a sustainable cooking facility.
Ox Plow
Each year the ox team is improving our technique and we are learning the right time to plow for the soil condition. The oxen are getting stronger and have a better feel about when to pull harder. The results from ox plowing are fantastic. They can nicely turn-over previously cultivated land.

Village technologies
Village technologies are locally designed, sustainable and often energy independent technologies used to process the raw food from the farm or to extract oil or to lift water or in handicrafts. Village technologies are sustainable, provide engagement for Ox/Bullocks and hence supportive to the cause of Cow protection. Under heavy industrialization and globalization, these time tested village technologies are lost and those remaining in traces are also being lost rapidly. We will try to revive these technologies, provide their use in our community and thus demonstrate their reliability, sustainability and efficiency.
Future Development Plans
Future farm projects: expanding production, seed bank, walipini underground greenhouse and transplanting fruit trees. A Goshala will be the first structure built in the VeV colony. The bulls and ox will be in a separate area of the village.
